Description
Colistin Sulphate is a polypeptide antibiotic belonging to the polymyxin class of antimicrobials. It exhibits potent bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-negative bacteria by disrupting the integrity of the bacterial cell membrane.
The antibiotic interacts with phospholipids and lipopolysaccharides within the bacterial outer membrane, causing leakage of cellular contents and rapid bacterial death.
Colistin is particularly effective against Gram-negative pathogens such as E. coli, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, Salmonella, and other susceptible microorganisms. Indications
COLIS 500 is indicated for the treatment and control of bacterial infections caused by Colistin-sensitive Gram-negative organisms, including:

Dosage
