Description

CAP 600 is a high-quality coccidiostat formulated for the effective prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in livestock and poultry. Its active ingredient, Amprolium HCl 60%, works by blocking thiamine uptake in coccidia, helping control infections caused by susceptible Eimeria species. Suitable for oral administration, CAP 600 is widely used in calves, sheep, goats, broilers, breeders, turkeys, and other fowls.

Composition

Each kilogram contains:
Amprolium HCl – 600gm

Description

Amprolium is a coccidiostat and antiprotozoal agent used for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis. It is effective against Eimeria spp., especially Eimeria tenella and Eimeria necatrix. As a thiamine (Vitamin B1) analogue, it competitively inhibits thiamine uptake in coccidia, causing nutritional deficiency and helping control protozoal infections.

Indications

CAP 600 is indicated for the treatment and prevention of coccidiosis caused by susceptible Eimeria species in calves, goats, sheep, poultry, and other fowls. It is also recommended for gastrointestinal infections where therapeutic or preventive administration of amprolium is required.

Contra indications

Do not administer to poultry producing eggs intended for human consumption. The use of amprolium is prohibited from laying age onwards. Avoid use in animals with impaired hepatic and/or renal functions.

Side effects

Overdosage may suppress weight gain in broilers and may cause polyneuritis. Long-term administration at high doses can result in thiamine (Vitamin B1) deficiency. In cases of overdose, thiamine should be administered orally or parenterally.

For oral administration through drinking water or milk.
